QWO® Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is one of the most misunderstood phenomena in cosmetics both among patients and physicians. Lots of home remedies promise results, but none deliver the results we seek because they don’t target the root cause of the problem. Many turn to over-the-counter options and even massages claim to do wonders to improve your skin. However, a lot of these options tend to yield less than stellar results. If you’re struggling with cellulite and want a solution, our team at Allergy & Skin Spa can help. We’re proud to be the first in Los Angeles, CA to offer the amazing Qwo® injectable cellulite treatment. If you are interested, contact our office for more information.

What Is QWO® Injectable Treatment?

If you are struggling with unwanted fat, there is a high possibility that you have also struggled with cellulite as well. While diet and exercise are essential for weight loss, getting rid of cellulite is more of a cosmetic issue. Cellulite can be tricky because it is always located on areas of our bodies that make us feel self-conscious. The Qwo® injectable cellulite treatment is the first FDA-approved injectable to address moderate-to-severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. Qwo® treatments are composed of clostridium histolyticum-aaes, a compound that has been shown to significantly improve the appearance of cellulite. Qwo® is generally well-tolerated and requires little, if any, downtime post-injection.

How Does QWO® Work?

If you’ve tried improving your diet and exercise but still struggle with embarrassing cellulite on your buttocks, you’re not alone. Up to 90% of adult women experience some degree of cellulite in their lower body, regardless of their age, race, and weight. When injected into the dimpled areas of the skin, Qwo® goes to work by dissolving fibrous septae that are drawing the skin down to the deeper tissue. As the fibrous septae is dissolved, a tethering effect begins, allowing the skin to float up away from the deeper tissues and have a much smoother appearance. If you are a woman with moderate to severe cellulite dimpling in your buttocks, you may be a good candidate for Qwo® treatments. Dr. Kia will discuss with you your problem areas as well as a treatment plan devised to fit your specific needs.

What Can I Expect with QWO®?

Unlike other injectables on the market, the results seen with Qwo® can last from one year, with the potential to last up to five years. Notably, each patient’s skin is different, and results may vary. After treatment, the patient will not experience any downtime. Qwo® is designed to be administered in three treatment sessions, spaced 21 days apart. The most common side effects include injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling, and warmth in the treatment area.
